In this little blog, you’ll find some details on momming, decision-tree-navigating, early morning capers, toddler ‘tudes, h (insert by the child, who asked, “can you push my button? I’m going to.”), and other elements of the hopefully someday daily bike commute.

I’ve always loved that wind-in-my-hair, first-taste-of-freedom feeling that being on a bike delivers so effortlessly. I’ve never wanted to outpace others or ride like a pro. I love the simple joy of getting somewhere with only pedal power.
About a year ago, frustrated by an inability to exercise as a full-time working solo parent to a wonderfully active toddler and dealing with stress and its physical manifestations, I decided to try my luck at bike commuting, toddler in tow. And now, I’m starting this blog as a sometimes slightly unhinged look at the things that go on when trying to do so. Mostly, I tend to turn to stories as motivation: in recovering from back surgery, in navigating early parenthood. I’m hoping the stories posted here can inspire another parent of littles somewhere that it is possible. To note: if I haven’t mentioned enough yet, I’m throwing these stories together on cold coffee, during car naps on the side of the road, and with minimal brain space for the kind of crafting of language and writing that I so enjoy. Also, in most of what I put into this blog, I’m an amateur. Hope you enjoy the ride!
